Can one use:

1) He didn't close the door, as he was told to.
2) He didn't close the door, since he was told to.
3) He didn't close the door, because he was told to.

respectively instead of:

1a) He didn't close the door, as he was told not to.
2a) He didn't close the door, since he was told not to.
3a) He didn't close the door, because he was told not to.
