How do we write the past tense for the word "spell"? Is it spelt or spelled?
The past and past participle of "spell" is "spelled" or "spelt". The "spelt" version is mainly used in England. Several regular verbs have two ways or spelling the past and/or past participle, for example:
learn > learned/learnt
dream > dreamed/dreamt
