HI I have come across this in my research:
Colorful parrots live in the rainforests cannot be changed to passive voice because the sentence does not have a direct object.
why is 'rainforest' not a direct object, it is a noun! any help would be gratefully accepted. thanks

In the phrase 'colourful parrots eat seeds', seeds is the direct object.
Do you see the difference now?
