Use of 'were'

Post by patches »

Hi, is it grammatically correct to say: "If were to not have my phone for a week...." (...I would...)?
I've been researching for a while but haven't seen anything about this case yet. I used this sentence in an essay a while ago and my english teacher marked it as incorrect. She said it HAS to be "If I didn't use my phone for a week..."
Thank you in advance
