Studying Vocabulary

According to my own experience, one of the best ways to increase your vocabulary is:

1. you have to read a lot
2. find and take note all the new vocabularies
3. look up the meaning in the dictionary
4. try to memorize and make sentences based on the new words you've found

Good luck!

Read the newspaper daily. Always there is a new word which helps to build vocabulary. Try to create a sentence using that word it helps to improve English speaking with new words. Also read books, novels.
At UPSC classes in Nagpur faculty always give the task to write a blog on a topic which helps students to write an essay in the exam with new words. And it's really helpful in the exam time and in vocabulary building.

There are bunch of methods of learning the vocabulary. Nevertheless, listening is not even the best way of learning one's vocabulary. But reading of books like : Novels, songs lyrics, newspapers and on, are the only best. way for learning vocabulary.

Here are a few tips to improve your English vocabulary:

1. Read widely: Reading books, newspapers, and magazines in English will expose you to new words and phrases, and help you understand their context and usage.

2. Keep a vocabulary journal: Write down new words you encounter, their definition and how they're used in a sentence. Review them regularly.

3. Use flashcards: Create flashcards with new words, and quiz yourself on them to improve retention.

4. Watch English media: Watch TV shows, movies, and videos in English to immerse yourself in the language.

5. Use an online dictionary: When you come across an unknown word, use an online dictionary to get its meaning and usage.

6. Practice speaking: Try to practice speaking English as much as you can, either with a language exchange partner or a tutor.

7. Play word games: Crossword puzzles, word games, and quizzes can be fun and effective ways to improve your vocabulary.[/list]
