using where(relative adverb) and visit in a sentence

Post by easong »

Cancun is a city where 4.5 million tourists visit every year.

Is this sentence wrong? One of my colleagues says it's wrong, since 'visit' is a transitive verb.. but I think it's correct.
What do you think?
