nose oneself into

Post by topas »

Hi teacher,

What does 'to nose oneself into something' mean here?

There, Mary Ruth soon noses herself into the personal life of the owner, Mr. Anthony, and his son, Mimo, who are trying to live without Mr. Anthony's wife, Mimo's mother.

Thanks.

pry into

OR perhaps

ingratiate herself with, get involved with

I detect a personal motive here 🫣
