What do you think is the hardest year of high school?

I have fond memories of my later years, but everyone has different experiences.

The first year.

I had moved to a small town from well within Chicago and I knew absolutely none of the kids there, who had all grown up together.
I teach 1-hour English classes online and correct essays with comments. Classes are ongoing, weekly, and flexible.

With standardized tests like the SAT or ACT, advanced placement (AP) classes, and the need to keep up good grades for college applications, this is often seen as a turning point in school. During this year, it can be hard to balance schoolwork, community activities, and getting ready for college.
