a. I thought he was in the hospital because he had had an accident. Actually, he hadn't had an accident and was away for a vacation.
b. He wants me to praise him because he is smart, although he knows that he isn't smart.
c. He wants me to praise him for his intelligence, although he knows that he isn't smart.
Are the above correct?
