picked up7sustained

Post by Beautiful »

Is this sentence grammatically correct

"He picked up an injury, but he didn't go to the doctor."

In case, the sentence is correct, does 'pick up an injury' mean the same as 'sustained an injury?

If so, which is considered more formal?

Thank you.

'Pick up' is not used in this way.

'Sustained' is the correct word.
