As an adult, is it ok to say:

"I used to have a good childhood"?

For me this sounds very wrong even though it appears to fulfill the criteria for "used to" in that it's a past state, not true in the present.

Can anyone help clear this up?

"used to" is an action that was done repeatedly or existed for a period in the past; for example- I used to travel alone.
