Trinity College English Exams
Trinity College London has been testing English language for more than 50 years. Their certificates are widely accepted by universities and employers. They offer several main suites of examinations.
The language levels used can be aligned with the Council of Europe Common European Framework (CEF).
- Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE)
GESE tests candidates' ability in listening and speaking. They are one-to-one oral examinations with a native English-speaking Trinity examiner who travels from the UK. - Integrated Skills in English examinations (ISE)
ISE assesses all four language skills โ Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. - Spoken English for Work (SEW)
SEW prepares candidates for the real world of work by testing telephone conversations, formal and informal presentations, and discussion of real work issues in an English-speaking environment. - Certificates in ESOL Skills for Life (SfL โ available in the UK only)
SfL is designed specifically in accordance with the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum and is intended for: settled communities, refugees and asylum seekers, migrant workers, partners and spouses of learners settled in the UK. - Certificates in ESOL for Work (EfW - available in the UK only)
EfW is designed to meet the needs of a wide group of UK-based ESOL learners. The focus of these examinations is on expanding the breadth and depth of skill in communicating through English in the workplace environment.
