English Club Indonesia says:
The reading is about Russia banning smartphones in the military. The purpose of the ban is to prevent military information from being spread on the internet. The ban also seeks to prevent personnel from talking or writing to journalists. Some militaries also ban personnel from wearing fitness trackers, as those devices can reveal the location of the person who wears them.

Wow! Tara,
Thank you so much because I could understand the subject of the audio news report in the my first listening without seeing the text.
You have spoken the news so clearly & slowly, so it’s so easy for me.
Now, you can guess what’s my level in listening?I’m so happy because it’s more than two years that I’m your student in this part of English Club website.
I could also fill in the blanks all the words except the word “journalists”.
Finally, in my opinion, it’s natural Russia bans the use of smartphones & social media networks for military personnel.
Thanks to you and Teacher Josef who’s the founder of this nice website. I wish you health, love & happiness.
Best wishes & have a great week in nice Canada,

Thank you, Tara!
Personally, I think the Russia’s parliament is right.
Especially when they are on duty. War has to stay silent and not deliver secrets which could be dangerous.
