Canada has adopted new regulations for cigarette packaging in hopes of drastically reducing tobacco use by . The new dark brown packaging, which matches Australia’s plain packaging, has been described by market researchers as the “ugliest colour in the world.” packaging in Canada already carries graphic warnings about the dangers of smoking, and regulators hope these will be more visible with the packaging.
