I agree with all of you, and i think we should ban plastic bags. It’s one of the best way to protect environment, protect our planet.
Actually, plastic can be remained for a long time, more than 500 years into the land before decomposition completed. Others, plastic can be stayed on the ocean, and it can be eaten by sharks, whales. what happen continuosly. All of us have known that.
Therefore, i think, all the goverment should have plan like as Canada. We should you the bags which are made by natural materials. -

But we have to educate all people by beginning young to the older
“NOT TO THROW AND PICK UP WHAT OTHERS HAVE THROWN”
If all human beeing try to do this our planet will be cleaner
I do this every morning when I go for walk and every morning I fill up a bag Do this and you’ll see you’ll be happier… -

I think that the idea is to ban the plastic products that can be replaced for another one without plastic.
In my humble opinion, if there is enough goodwill every plastic product can be replaced for another one which is better for the environment.

Hi Tara,
First, thank you so so so much for this very easy and interesting audio news report. I enjoyed very much.
I could understand the subject without seeing the text in the best way because you have spoken so clearly and so slowly.
I could also fill in the blanks all words except the word “likely”.Second, the subject that you have chosen for us is one of the most important subjects in our world.
Because plastics threaten life of all human beings. I heard from a doctor who believed in this subject that plastics can cause many cancers.Another doctor said on TV that if there are two bottles of water that one is made of plastic and another is made of glass, she chooses the bottle of glass.
I myself remember all supermarkets didn’t use plastic bags in my country before 1979. They used paper bags.
Plastics are also destroying rivers and oceans and they can kill many animals too.I hope all countries can act for banning plastics because they threaten our health.
Thank you again and best wishes,
Bijan from the Persian Gulf -

Thanks Tara, It was a good new for all the planet.
I think plastic is an excellent material but not for single use. If we continue using plastic in that way the damage to the earth will be fatal.
Good for Canada! Hope all the countries follow this example. -

Thank you Tara for helping us learn English. Some years ago I studied in Germany. I was amazed by the way they collect empty plastic bottles. They simply install automatic machineries out of the supermarkets, where you can put your empty plastic bottles. According to the type of bottle, the machinery gives you a receipt back. On the receipt you can see how much the empty plastic bottle values. You can use the receipt to buy food at the supermarket. I think this is a very clever and useful idea to collect plastic and give people the chance to take care of their environment.
