  • accelerator (UK): I wanted to go faster, so I put my foot on the accelerator.
  • brake: I pressed the brakes and tried to stop.
  • clutch: Putting your foot on the clutch disengages the gears.
  • emergency brake (US): The footbrake wasn’t working, so I used the emergency brake.
  • gas pedal (US): I wanted to go faster, so I put my foot on the gas pedal.
  • gear lever (UK): I put my hand on the gear lever so I could change gears.
  • gearshift (US): I put my hand on the gear shift so I could change gears.
  • gear stick (US): I put my hand on the gear stick so I could change gears.
