Below, you see the words used in example sentences- accelerator (UK): I wanted to go faster, so I put my foot on the accelerator.
- brake: I pressed the brakes and tried to stop.
- clutch: Putting your foot on the clutch disengages the gears.
- emergency brake (US): The footbrake wasn’t working, so I used the emergency brake.
- gas pedal (US): I wanted to go faster, so I put my foot on the gas pedal.
- gear lever (UK): I put my hand on the gear lever so I could change gears.
